Drainage Issues

Our Boise area soils are often high in clay which does not drain well. This kills trees overtime and plants like Euonymus often are victims of too much water.

Green Team focuses a lot on drainage issues in landscape to save trees that will die without addressing the problem.

One very big difference is Green Team uses an Airspade to protect tree roots.

So often the real problem with a tree is overwatering

If a tree is at the bottom of a grade, or in a lawn environment where the lawn has to be heavily watered to maintain its green, the tree is literally being suffocated by too much water.

The only real answer is to create a drainage system

This is done with French style drains – however most companies use trenchers and damage the tree roots creating more harm than good.

Green Team Contractors use an AirSpade that does not damage the root System

This has to be done correctly and the pipe system is done differently to insure the roots do not squeeze off the pipe at a later time. This is why a Certified Arborist is in charge of the process.

                                                    Tree Damage            NOT Damaged

Boise Area Lawns are trying to grow in a desert environment – The clay soil holds the water and does drain
These drains basically move the water to areas that can percolate the water out of the environment

Drains can be directed to percolation pits that evaporate the water out of the area. These can be made to look attractive like dry river beds or walking paths
